Last Chance for May
I just noticed it's the last day of May and seeing as I've yet to a go a month without finding something to post, I thought I better get on it. Here is an excerpt from my on-going Doc Saga which I write sporadically whenever mood and time line up. I think this part can stand alone.

Salt in the Wounds
I could dial her number in the dark.
“Hey, I’m too busy to pick up right now. Probably off doing something cool. Maybe fighting terrorists or something. Anyway, leave a message!” And then the inevitable, “The mail box belonging to Doc is full.”
Over the past couple days, dialing her number had become a compulsive act. I knew exactly how many rings it took for voicemail to pick up. So well I didn’t count anymore. I could just feel the correct length of time.
As soon as I hit end, my fingers started itching to dial again. It was ridiculous and I knew it. Every time I dialed I became less and less sure of what I would say if she did pick up. No, it wasn’t for me to say anything. What needed to be said, she had to say.
My phone rang. My heart leapt. I looked at the call ID and my heart stopped. The number displayed was meaningless to me.
“Hello?” I said, hoping it was a telemarketer I could let out some of my aggression on.
“Hi,” said Laura’s voice. “Why didn’t you pick up before?”
“I didn’t recognize the number.” When had I given her my number? She’d asked me out through Chance. It’s not like we’d spoken on the phone before. “I’m sorry,” I added for good measure.
“I think we should talk about what happened the other night.”

Project Tango
Everyone knows Tango Jones is one of the most celebrated actresses of our time. What no one knows is Tango Jones is a Special Agent molded by the FBI to become their VIP All Access Pass to the seedy underbelly of Hollywood life. Tango’s cunning and stealth uncovers a tabloid’s wet dream of scandals and murders until the day her fake ex-boyfriend is found dead. The local police immediately look at Tango as a suspect along with her bodyguard Zee who has been mistaken as her lover. Now Tango and Zee have to find the real murdered before Project Tango is uncovered and Tango's identity made public. Just another day in the double life.

The Longing
This is an old one, but I've been putting up nothing but art lately so I figured it was time for some writing.
xoxoChilly
At times when my head is empty and no anxious or excited thoughts are pulling my focus this way and that, without meaning to, I think of a kiss. Not a Hollywood kiss, no worlds spinning, just that moment of two sets of lips coming together. It’s always a surprise when I become aware of what I’m thinking about, because when I usually catch myself doing this is when I’m single and don’t even have a crush. This explains why the person I’m kissing is blurry and out of focus like a dream. It’s pointless to daydream about a kiss when there’s no one you fancy. And it leaves me with such a feeling of longing that I have to start running down a list of guys I know and replay the scenario to see if one of them fit. But that usually ends in cringes rather than eurekas. I could never figure out why I’d dream of kissing when there’s no one to kiss. But wait. Maybe that’s just the point. When I long for kissing it’s when I’m most alone. I’m not longing for a specific person, but for a connection. Perhaps a new connection to the world I’ve never explored before, a new way to tap into my humanity, a new way to open up without saying a word. So at my quietest moments, when it’s just me in my head, I’ll imagine a kiss and invite the world in.

Sweet Ones
For my friend Elly xoxo
That's the hardest thing about art, you have to know when to stop improving and step away :)
